Photo Guide
You do not need a good camera. You need daylight, an eye-level angle, and a few honest photos that show how the fur actually sits.
Example reference photos of a dog taken at eye level in daylight
Send us four to six photos
- Face-on, eyes open, looking towards the camera
- Left profile and right profile
- Full body standing or sitting, whole animal in frame
- One close-up of any unusual marking, scar or broken ear
- Optional: a photo of them doing the thing they always did
The three things that cause delays
- Flash — it flattens fur and turns eyes into mirrors
- Top-down angle — it compresses the muzzle and hides the chest
- Heavy filters or portrait-mode blur — we cannot read the real coat colour
If you only have old photos
That is very common, especially for memorial pieces. Send what you have, even scans of printed photographs, and we will ask you specific questions instead — coat shade, eye colour, how the fur sat on the chest.
Your memory is more accurate than a twenty-year-old auto white balance.
How to send them
Upload at checkout, or email the files to hello@felted-pet.com with your order number. Please send originals rather than screenshots — a screenshot loses about three quarters of the detail we work from.
Still have a question?
Email hello@felted-pet.com — a real person replies within one business day.
